Programs and Services at Framingham Health Center
In keeping with our commitment to providing access to culturally competent health care, our multilingual staff and interpreters facilitate all appointments and programs.
Framingham Community Health Center provides care for the whole family. Services include preventive care, routine check-ups, immunizations, and management of acute and chronic illnesses.
Referrals are made to local mental health providers for mental health services for children, adolescents and adults. These services include: outpatient counseling, crisis intervention, psychiatric evaluation and medication treatment, evaluation for childhood disorders including ADHD, depression screening and treatment.
Dental services include comprehensive exams, x-rays, oral health education, prophylaxis (cleanings), restorative treatment, oral surgery and emergency treatment. We also provide pediatric dental care and prosthodontic services including dentures, partials, crowns, bridges, and mouth guards.
Phlebotomy services ordered by FCHC providers are provided at our 72 Union Avenue site through a contract with UMass Medical Center
Prescriptions from our health care providers can be filled at Eaton Apothecary located at 266 Waverly St. in Framingham. This pharmacy accepts most insurance plans and assistance is available for those whose insurance does not include prescription benefits.
Our providers and nurses offer counseling on different birth control methods/family planning.
Framingham Community Health Center facilitates specialty care by referral to local specialists, Great Brook Valley Health Center, UMass Memorial Medical Center, MetroWest Medical Center and Boston hospitals.
The childbirth education program is offered several times during the year in Portuguese to patients of Framingham Community Health Center. Classes address pregnancy and prenatal exercise, prepared childbirth, and breastfeeding.
Breastfeeding support is available through our primary medical team, perinatal case managers and through referrals to the WIC program.
A interdisciplinary team comprised of the medical provider, nurse, community health worker, and support staff, works together with patients to manage their chronic disease. The self management model allows patients to be in charge of setting their goals with the support of a professional health care team.
We are contracted with DPH and will be offering refugee health assessments to new refugees and asylees in the MetroWest community.
In collaboration with Wayside, Advocates, South Middlesex Opportunity Council, and Future Skills Institute, Framingham Community Health Center provides health education and screening to at risk young adults age 18-24.
Primary Care services are to Framingham High School students at the High School. Registration and parental consent are required. Hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 7AM to 3:30 PM.
